Designed with a focus on safety, accessibility, and sustainability, Wisk Aero’s Generation 6 eVTOL represents a major leap forward in autonomous advanced air mobility.
Operating under a model of autonomous flight with human oversight, the Generation 6 is tailored to meet the needs of urban environments and regional connectivity while aligning with the safety standards of commercial aviation.
Wisk Generation 6 Design and Configuration
Generation 6 builds on Wisk’s deep experience in eVTOL design with a proprietary 12-propeller configuration and a boom layout optimized for vertical and forward flight. The aircraft features six tilting front propellers and six fixed rear propellers. The front rotors transition from lift to cruise configuration, enhancing thrust and redundancy, while the rear propellers lock into position during cruise for better aerodynamic efficiency.
The aircraft’s larger 5-blade front propellers reduce noise and improve control and energy efficiency. Its wingspan is under 50 feet, allowing for efficient operation at urban vertiports and integration with existing infrastructure. The aerodynamic design contributes to smooth, stable flight and a quieter passenger experience.
Passenger Experience & Features of Wisk’s Generation 6 eVTOL
The Generation 6 features a spacious cabin with seating for four passengers and ample room for personal and carry-on items. Interior design elements follow an automotive-inspired approach, focusing on ergonomic comfort and aesthetic appeal. Panoramic windows offer broad visibility, while modern in-flight amenities include Wi-Fi connectivity and charging ports to support productivity during transit.
The aircraft is equipped with personalized displays and onboard controls that allow passengers to access information and communicate with ground-based crew. Each seat has access to on-demand support via voice or text, ensuring passengers can reach assistance when needed.
Accessibility is a core design principle. Entry and exit points accommodate users with a wide range of mobility needs, and user interfaces are crafted to support passengers with hearing, vision, or other impairments.
Wisk Generation 6 Performance & Safety
Wisk’s Generation 6 is engineered for short to medium-range flights, offering a range of 90 miles (including reserves) and a cruising speed between 110–120 knots. The aircraft can be rapidly recharged in approximately 15 minutes, supporting high operational tempo in urban settings.
Safety is foundational to its architecture. The design incorporates multiple redundancies, avoids single points of failure, and relies on robust autonomous systems that are continuously monitored by ground-based multi-vehicle supervisors. Wisk is targeting safety metrics equivalent to those of commercial airliners, reinforcing the aircraft’s role as a dependable transportation option in the AAM ecosystem.
